Social Media & Community Manager - Job Summary
The role oversees the Trust’s organic social media platforms to strengthen reputation, engage the community, and demonstrate impact through multimedia storytelling and social media strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and improve social media and community engagement strategy to boost visibility and audience connection.
- Manage social media content calendar balancing events, storytelling, sponsor commitments, and sales priorities.
- Create, capture, and publish photo and video content from various Trust events and activities.
- Edit photography and video for social platforms, creating content from informal coverage to polished storytelling.
- Write platform-specific copy maintaining a consistent organizational voice.
- Monitor social channels, engage with audiences, moderate comments, and manage sensitive interactions.
- Provide live and quick social coverage of events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Use business intelligence and analytics to track performance and inform content strategy.
- Build and manage relationships with creators and influencers, coordinating partnerships and evaluating results.
- Respond thoughtfully to guest inquiries in coordination with guest services.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners on events, campaigns, and content opportunities.
- Prepare performance reports and share insights with leadership.
- Commit to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion in work practices.
- Oversee budgets related to contracted support for photography, videography, and content creator projects.
- Exercise day-to-day discretion over outbound social media management under Director of Communications’ oversight.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, multimedia, advertising, digital marketing or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years professional experience in social media management, communications, or multimedia-related fields.
- Required skills in photography, videography, and editing.
- Preferred experience in channel-specific copywriting.
- Strong time and project management skills with ability to prioritize in fast-paced environments.
- Passion for the mission of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and arts-driven revitalization.
- Self-motivated, curious, tactful, determined, patient, and organized.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, multimedia, advertising, digital marketing, or related technical field
