Community Engagement Specialist - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Specialist leads the Connect for Life program by building trust and engaging community members through events, home visits, and outreach to empower healthier living and stronger connections among members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Connect For Life program utilizing Wider Circle's curriculum to build trust and promote health.
- Plan and host virtual and in-person events to foster member relationships and wellness.
- Proactively contact members to ensure participation and facilitate one-on-one home visits.
- Document all member interactions, attendance, and outreach attempts in digital systems promptly.
- Identify natural leaders and invite them to become Wider Circle Ambassadors.
- Engage prospective members and develop personalized enrollment plans.
- Serve as a liaison connecting members to health plans and healthcare services.
- Achieve membership engagement and growth goals and report on participation metrics.
- Conduct home visits for members unable to attend events as needed.
- Manage time and report hours worked in a remote environment.
Requirements
- Ability to work well with others and provide leadership.
- Proactive with minimal supervision.
- Adaptable to fast-paced environments and eager to learn.
- 3+ years experience in community outreach, teaching, or facilitation; healthcare experience is a plus.
- Experience supporting or creating a community of 500+ members.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Comfortable using web and app-based systems.
- Independent worker with reliable transportation for travel between 20-50 miles.
- Flexible schedule, able to work outside regular business hours.
- Willingness to complete pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Passionate about building relationships, with strong communication, presentation, networking, and leadership skills.
Education
Associate's degree preferred; 5+ years relevant experience may substitute for degree.
