Community Engagement Specialist - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Specialist leads the Connect for Life program by engaging community members through events and personalized outreach to promote better health and build trusted relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Connect For Life program, using curriculum to build trust and promote health within the community.
- Plan and host virtual and in-person events to foster member relationships and wellness.
- Proactively engage members via calls, home visits, and events to ensure participation and support.
- Document member interactions and attendance in Wider Circle's digital systems timely.
- Identify and recruit community leaders to serve as ambassadors to support community growth.
- Enroll prospective members and develop personalized engagement plans.
- Serve as liaison connecting members to health plans and helping close care gaps.
- Monitor and achieve membership engagement and growth goals using relevant metrics.
- Manage time and report hours worked in a remote environment.
- Conduct home visits to members who are difficult to reach or need encouragement.
Requirements
- Team player with ability to provide leadership and contribute positively.
- Proactive and able to take initiative with minimal supervision.
- Adaptable to fast-paced environments and eager to learn and grow.
- 3+ years of experience in community outreach, teaching, or facilitation preferred; healthcare experience is a plus.
- Experience building or supporting communities of 500+ members.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Tech-savvy with use of web and app-based systems.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Reliable transportation with willingness to travel 20-50 miles.
- Flexible schedule including availability outside regular business hours.
- Willingness to complete pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Passionate about helping others and building relationships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Outgoing and positive with strong networking and leadership skills.
Education
Associate's degree preferred; 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered instead.
