Director, Community Engagement and Communications - Job Summary
The Director leads the Community Engagement and Communications department, overseeing marketing, communications, public affairs, and donor family engagement to support Donor Network of Arizona's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise Executive Leadership Team and collaborate with leadership for strategic alignment
- Oversee Community Engagement and Communications team and develop marketing and communication strategies
- Manage Donor Family Engagement team and develop family support initiatives
- Create annual plans to increase registered donors and improve donor family support
- Collaborate on public relations campaigns and ensure integration of best practices across platforms
- Promote consistent organizational voice aligned with Donor Network of Arizona brand
- Manage partnerships including Motor Vehicle Division, Government Affairs, DonateLifeAZ Donor Registry, and healthcare organizations
- Oversee complaint resolution related to donor family matters
- Develop and revise department policies and ensure operational effectiveness
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and staff development to foster a high-performance culture
- Participate in budget and staffing planning with executive leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred fields include Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related
- Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare, non-profit, or similar field with results in marketing, public relations, and partnership development
- At least 3 years in a Manager or higher role
- Experience in public relations, advertising agency, medical or non-profit marketing preferred
- Management experience with ability to supervise and mentor staff
- Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with high-quality work
