Community Engagement Partner - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Partner supports community outreach and public health initiatives across New York City and Long Island, working closely with the VP of Government Affairs to strengthen partnerships and promote health equity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support cultivation and maintenance of partnerships with community-based organizations, harm reduction providers, advocacy groups, and public health partners
- Assist in executing community engagement strategies aligned with organizational and government affairs priorities
- Plan, coordinate, and track community engagement activities such as health fairs, volunteer events, and outreach events
- Promote community projects and events on Healthix’s social media platforms to increase engagement
- Represent Healthix at health fairs, community events, volunteer activities, and meetings both onsite and virtual
- Track action items and follow-ups to ensure timely communication with community partners
- Conduct outreach to prospective community partners to expand engagement opportunities
- Maintain calendar of community engagement activities to support internal coordination
Requirements
- Ability to collect, organize, and interpret qualitative and quantitative community-level data
- Prior experience preferred in community outreach, community development, health promotion, social work, or related field; internship or volunteer experience welcome
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging diverse audiences
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to establish rapport with community members and partners
- Demonstrate sensitivity, respect, and cultural awareness when working with diverse communities
- Proficiency with social media platforms and digital tools
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously
- Willingness to travel within New York City, Long Island, and Staten Island; occasional evening or weekend availability
- Professionalism, integrity, accountability, and ability to represent Healthix’s values
