Community Manager - Job Summary
Responsible for moderation of the site to keep the community safe, welcoming, and creator-friendly, including policy enforcement, user communication, and collaborating across teams to improve processes and community standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine community guidelines, moderation policies, and enforcement frameworks.
 - Apply community guidelines consistently and document decisions with supporting evidence.
 - Handle user communications for sensitive issues like harassment and IP disputes professionally.
 - Identify and flag emerging risks related to game launches or cultural flashpoints with proposed mitigations.
 - Manage moderation queues by prioritizing, triaging, actioning, and resolving cases with accurate documentation.
 - Manage and support volunteer moderators to maintain high moderation standards.
 - Communicate sensitively around bans, appeals, and broader community concerns.
 - Follow escalation procedures for complex or high-impact cases.
 - Track operational metrics and propose process improvements.
 - Maintain SOPs, playbooks, and documentation for internal and external use.
 - Provide mentorship and guidance to Community Managers and Support Specialists.
 - Partner with Support on edge cases and contribute to FAQs and help-centre content.
 - Lead incident management and escalation workflows for community crises and high-risk events.
 
Requirements
- Proven experience in online moderation, community management, or trust & safety, preferably in UGC or gaming communities.
 - Deep knowledge of high-volume community platforms and moderation tools.
 - Proven ability to develop and enforce community/content policies at scale.
 - Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
 - Ability to handle sensitive, high-pressure situations with discretion.
 - Familiarity with GDPR, COPPA, OSA, and online harm prevention best practices.
 - Familiarity with gaming/modding culture, IP considerations, and legal compliance.
 - Experience training and mentoring moderators and volunteers.
