Community Engagement Specialist - Job Summary

The member will support volunteer engagement expansion at Rebuilding Together Howard County by assisting in the development of a digital volunteer portal, volunteer outreach, and providing technology assistance to homeowners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with research, content development, and feedback collection for a digital volunteer engagement portal.
  • Support volunteer communications through newsletters, email updates, and social media content.
  • Help collect and analyze information on volunteer interests and opportunities.
  • Provide basic technology assistance to homeowner applicants navigating the online intake process.
  • Assist with planning and implementing volunteer appreciation events and orientation sessions.
  • Collect and maintain service-related data to support program evaluation and reporting.
  • Participate in community network meetings to share information about volunteer opportunities.

Requirements

  • Passion for community service and digital inclusion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in community development or digital inclusion.
  • U.S. Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident status.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Age between 18-24 years.
  • No more than three previous AmeriCorps State/National terms served.
