If you can walk into a slightly messy brand transition, calm the room, make customers feel heard, and turn “acquisition communications” into something people actually understand, this could be a very good use of your next 12 months.
First Focus is growing across New Zealand. We’re now almost 400 people across NZ, Australia and the Philippines, ranked the #1 MSP for 9 years running, and continuing to expand through acquisition. This role will help bring acquired New Zealand brands into the First Focus ecosystem without making everyone feel like they’ve been trapped inside a corporate rebrand PowerPoint.
You’ll focus on customer communication, social engagement and trust-building during acquisition and brand transition periods. This is not a broad digital marketing role. It’s about helping customers and communities feel informed, respected and confident while things change around them.
You’ll primarily support engagement across LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit and Meta platforms.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinating and adapting content across key social platforms
- Engaging with customers, prospects and the wider New Zealand business community
- Responding to comments, questions and direct messages with good judgement
- Supporting customer communication during acquisition and brand transition periods
- Helping acquired brands and their communities move into the broader First Focus ecosystem
- Preserving customer trust during organisational and brand change
- Monitoring engagement trends, platform behaviour, competitor activity and relevant industry conversations
- Recommending practical ways to strengthen visibility, credibility and online authority across NZ
Strong judgement matters here. We need someone who knows the difference between meaningful participation and the kind of empty engagement that makes the internet sigh heavily into its coffee.
Requirements
What you’ll bring
- Experience managing social media, online communities or customer engagement for a business brand, ideally in MSP, IT, SaaS or professional services
- Strong written communication skills, with the judgement to be clear, calm and commercially appropriate
- Confidence engaging with business audiences across LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube and Meta, including comments, questions and direct messages
- The ability to adapt tone across platforms and audiences, from professional updates to community-led conversations
- Comfort supporting customers through change, ambiguity, acquisition activity or brand transition
- Technical literacy, with an interest in technology, AI and digital trends
- Experience with YouTube or video-led content
This is a dedicated full-time role for 12 months.

- Experience engaging with SMB audiences
- Exposure to acquisition, integration or brand transition communications
- Familiarity with paid social campaigns, HubSpot or marketing automation
