Coordinator, Community Engagement - Job Summary

The Coordinator, Community Engagement supports the volunteer life cycle and strengthens connections within the MS Canada community by building and sustaining meaningful volunteer relationships and facilitating engagement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a positive volunteer experience throughout recruitment, onboarding, training, stewardship, and recognition processes.
  • Identify volunteers with leadership potential and connect them to organizational opportunities.
  • Support local and national community engagement activities including community hubs and events (in-person and virtual).
  • Collaborate across teams to identify volunteer needs and help develop and implement volunteer engagement strategies.

Requirements

  • Confident, energetic, and results oriented.
  • Experience in volunteer engagement and mobilizing volunteers for fundraising events.
  • Passion for enhancing volunteer experience in non-profit/health charity sector.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with specific targets.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Ability to cultivate a positive and supportive atmosphere by recognizing and assisting volunteers.
  • Self-motivated multi-tasker who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintains confidentiality with sensitivity to disability and diversity issues.
  • Flexible and able to manage a diverse workload.
  • Exceptional computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office and database/survey software.
