National Director of Community Engagement - Job Summary
The National Director of Community Engagement leads efforts to apply an inclusive, community-centered approach to NAA’s post-adoption and mental health services programs, engaging lived experience voices to improve outcomes and supporting recruitment and program accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Support evolution and expansion of post-adoption programming with mental health services integration.
- Serve as liaison between Center and NAA staff and present findings to leadership.
- Lead and organize Lived Expertise Teams and focus groups to ensure authentic engagement.
- Provide technical assistance on community engagement strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with national organizations and key partners.
- Manage and supervise Project Specialist and Community Engagement Implementation Manager.
- Write grantee reports and oversee project financial accounting with CFO and finance committee.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social work, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of public child welfare experience.
- Licensed Social Worker or similar credentials required.
- National experience highly desired.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to travel 3-5 times per year.
- Exceptional project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong public relations and communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of child welfare systems.
- Collaborative leadership and team-building abilities.
- Data analysis and grant management familiarity.
- Financial management skills and ethical integrity.
- Mediation and political savvy in organizational contexts.
Education
Master's degree in social work, nonprofit management, public administration, or closely related field
