Grants & Community Manager - Job Summary
The Grants & Community Manager supports grantmaking processes and fosters relationships with community partners while managing communications and participating in live arena events.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full grant life cycle including research, due diligence, progress tracking, and communications.
- Maintain and improve grantmaking workflows and procedures for accuracy and compliance.
- Correspond with applicants and grantees under Executive Director's guidance.
- Track key deadlines, reports, and grant documentation across programs.
- Conduct weekly community site visits, partner meetings, and participate in youth programs.
- Strengthen partnerships and cultivate new relationships as Foundation representative.
- Collaborate with internal partners on DYF-sponsored events inside Prudential Center.
- Represent Foundation at New Jersey Devils home games, concerts, and arena events.
- Coordinate partner engagement opportunities and programmatic community touchpoints.
- Manage social media channels ensuring timely and consistent posting.
- Capture and draft content to support storytelling and digital engagement.
- Assist Executive Director with Board activities, reports, and presentations.
- Support Devils Alumni Scholarship program and coordinate submission processes.
- Help coordinate annual fundraisers, community programs, and events with DYF team.
- Participate in evening and weekend events as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Work efficiently across multiple projects with shifting priorities.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively.
- Passion for youth development and sport as a tool for community.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred knowledge of youth development, systems change, or community-based work.
- 1-3 years experience in nonprofit and/or government sectors preferred.
- Understanding of needs and interests of youth and local communities.
- Experience engaging diverse community members and stakeholders.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, game nights, and arena events.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout New Jersey.
