Community Manager - Job Summary
Manage and grow a highly regulated sector community by ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering engagement, and serving as a brand guardian and cultural leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a large social media community and maintain a positive, collaborative environment.
- Moderate daily communications and respond promptly to questions and escalations.
- Identify and post on trending topics and organize community engagement activities.
- Report monthly on community themes and participation.
- Review and approve community messaging and user-generated content for compliance with regulations and policies.
- Monitor platforms for compliance breaches, misinformation, and risks; implement mitigation and escalation.
- Serve as liaison between organization, community, clients, and legal/compliance teams.
- Develop and maintain community guidelines and educational materials.
- Design and execute long-term community programs aligned with industry guidelines.
- Track engagement metrics and collaborate with other teams to optimize strategies.
- Stay informed on social platform trends and share insights internally.
- Continuously improve procedures for strategic and workflow enhancements.
- Collaborate on case studies and reporting for campaigns and partnerships.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years experience in community management, public relations, or digital strategy, preferably in regulated sectors.
- Experience with creator programs.
- Strong knowledge of compliance standards, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and sector-specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FINRA).
- Capability to anticipate PR and legal risks and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex legal and technical concepts accessibly.
- Proactive messaging ability and meeting fast deadlines.
- Ability to understand and communicate cultural issues and identify platform trends and threats.
- Passion for storytelling relevant to Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage diverse individuals effectively.
- Understanding of key performance drivers and execution based on findings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
