Intern - Community Engagement - Job Summary
Assist the Department of Neighborhoods with community outreach and engagement initiatives under the guidance of the Community Development Division Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with the public, City and county staff, City officials, and outside agencies
- Research planning-related issues to assist in preparing documents and reports
- Assist staff with day-to-day tasks related to planning initiatives
- Attend meetings outside typical business hours
- Assist with coordination of public outreach meetings and activities
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Economics, Community Development, or related field
- Broad knowledge of urban planning and community development principles and procedures
- Ability to manage multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams
- Ability to manage schedules, spreadsheets, participant tracking, and event documentation
- Preferred valid Indiana Driver's License if operating City vehicle
Education
Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree
