Community Manager - Job Summary
Manage and grow the Texas Sports Academy community, serving as the primary contact for parents and student-athletes, hosting community events both online and in person.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the community end to end, including communications, member engagement, and overall member experience.
- Plan and host online events such as parent sessions, speaker panels, socials, Q&A sessions, and family meetups.
- Coordinate speakers and guests, managing all event logistics from invitation to follow-up.
- Engage with members daily across community channels, social platforms, email, and the parent portal.
- Answer family questions and direct specialized inquiries to appropriate team members.
- Maintain and manage a rolling community calendar of events and engagement touchpoints.
Requirements
- Experience building or managing an engaged community for schools, athletic programs, membership organizations, or similar groups.
- Ability to plan, promote, and execute events including speaker outreach and coordination.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage parents and student-athletes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment.
- Background in athletics as an athlete, coach, or sports-related role with understanding of youth athletics and families.
- Residency in Texas, preferably Austin-area to support in-person programming.
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) for communication, event planning, data analysis, and automation.
