Community Engagement Coordinator - Job Summary
The IACT Community Engagement Coordinator supports Israel engagement through the IACT Campus Program at the University of Delaware by organizing student participation before and after Birthright Israel trips, developing Jewish life activities, and fostering leadership among students.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit over 200 students annually for Israel travel experiences such as Birthright Israel and Onward Israel.
- Serve as primary staff for Birthright Israel trips and coordinate training for trip staff.
- Engage participants post-trip in campus activities related to Israel education, advocacy, community service, and Jewish learning.
- Manage social media accounts such as Instagram.
- Develop relationships with campus demographics to support Israel engagement.
- Oversee student leadership teams and interns.
- Collaborate with Community Shaliach to enhance Israel-related campus life.
- Maintain detailed records for events, attendance, and communication.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for Israel engagement.
- Raise awareness on current Israel issues.
- Utilize data and partnerships to build Jewish life and community on campus.
- Build and maintain at least 200 new student relationships annually.
- Cultivate individual relationships with Jewish students through creative outreach.
- Participate in weekly staff programs, Shabbat, and holiday activities.
Requirements
- 0-3 years of professional experience with a bachelor’s degree.
- Self-driven, motivated, and energetic with enthusiasm for Israel programming and travel.
- Confidence in initiating and managing programs and projects.
- Strong multi-tasking and project management skills with adherence to deadlines.
- Prior travel experience in Israel and familiarity with Israel and Judaism.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Jewish education and outreach.
- Proven leadership ability and capacity for teamwork.
- Sales or recruitment experience through job, campus organization, or volunteer roles.
- Ability to connect with new people easily.
- Understanding of varied student connections to Israel.
- Willingness to learn and admit knowledge gaps.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Interest in further developing relationship to Judaism and Israel.
