Head of Community Editorial - Job Summary
Lead a team of Community Editors to promote reader voices across all Telegraph journalism platforms and develop community editorial strategies to support subscriber loyalty, retention, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee Community team’s editorial and community strategies aligned with subscriber growth goals
- Lead and manage Deputy Head of Community Editorial and Community Editors
- Enhance engagement between journalists and readers to support subscriber loyalty and new acquisitions
- Oversee editorial output and ensure it meets standards and style requirements
- Lead editorial planning for major news stories and events
- Contribute to editorial products and initiatives affecting commenters and communities
- Establish and document best practices for editorial community products and initiatives
- Use data and insights to inform journalism, strategies, and evaluate content
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills
- Knowledge of news agenda and current affairs
- Experience in writing, commissioning, editing or publishing editorial content across multiple formats
- Excellent editorial judgement and understanding of media law
- Deep understanding of The Telegraph’s subscribers, brands, and journalistic values
- Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across stakeholders and departments
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach to project initiation and completion
