Program Director - Job Summary
The Program Director will lead the Community Pride program, managing daily operations, community engagement, and partnerships to support and strengthen the Harlem community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of Community Organizers for successful program delivery
- Work closely with Community Advisory Board and stakeholders to address community needs
- Collaborate with lawmakers, community leaders, businesses, and organizations to promote HCZ goals
- Foster strong communication with HCZ staff and leadership
- Develop and implement youth engagement strategies through community and service-learning projects
- Engage and connect community youth to supportive programs and services
- Identify and implement safety improvements in the St. Nicholas housing development
- Plan and oversee community-related events and beautification projects
- Conceptualize and execute special events and program activities
- Ensure accurate reporting of program goals, data, and metrics
- Engage community centers to offer programs based on community needs
- Oversee, train, and develop site management staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred
- 5+ years managing and leading community-based or corporate organizations
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Experience planning community events and new program initiatives
- Knowledge and sensitivity to issues in underserved communities of color
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Effective communication with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
- Ability to analyze program data and update standard operating procedures
- Open to working with diverse families, parents/caregivers, and children
- Innovative mindset and ethical standards with collaborative leadership
- Bilingual Spanish/English/French is a plus
Education
Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
