Community Engagement Lead - Job Summary
Lead and build Host Community strategy in Spain and Portugal, implementing and innovating community programs to engage hosts and support business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as primary liaison between local Airbnb team and Host Community, coordinating cross-functional community activities.
- Lead community growth, engagement and impact initiatives from planning to delivery.
- Develop and execute local community programs with effective communication and resource management.
- Collaborate with Country Manager, policy, legal, marketing, communications, partnerships, and supply teams.
- Manage daily operations of one Community Engagement Manager.
- Develop and test new value propositions to grow host communities in Spain and Portugal.
- Recruit, onboard, and manage new community leaders.
- Design initiatives for train the trainer model and content strategies to drive host engagement.
- Support and adapt global community engagement programs for local needs.
- Organize community events both online and in-person.
- Identify local needs and develop in-market projects to enhance host success and business goals.
- Create resources, communications, and training materials for cross-functional partners.
- Collaborate with regional stakeholders to leverage and grow Host Community opportunities.
- Influence regional prioritization, process improvement, and program feedback.
- Develop deep knowledge of local market trends and community needs.
- Co-develop strategies with supply teams to optimize host performance.
- Leverage knowledge of short-term rental regulations to inform and educate hosts.
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in community management, strategy, innovation, operations, or project management.
- Strong strategic project management skills.
- Ability to align community goals with business objectives.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments.
- Entrepreneurial, solution-oriented, and growth mindset.
- Highly autonomous and self-driven.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills.
- Passion for Airbnb mission; hosting experience is a plus.
- Spanish mother tongue and fluent English; Portuguese fluency ideal.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Based in Barcelona.
