Technical Community Manager - Job Summary

The role involves managing and developing a plugin developer community for RuneScape, acting as a technical liaison between developers and the player community to support and grow user-generated plugins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualise and deliver the RuneScape Plugin Developer Program
  • Act as a technical bridge to provide key information and align product plans with external developer needs
  • Learn RuneScape technology and coding languages to support plugin development
  • Design and manage physical and digital events connecting technical teams and the plugin community
  • Create and maintain documentation and guidance for plugin development
  • Design and maintain a developer journey and supporting communities
  • Review and promote top plugins within the ecosystem
  • Identify gaps in plugin development and drive new initiatives
  • Manage plugin community spaces for optimal development environment
  • Collaborate with RuneScape Community Managers to promote community-developed plugins

Requirements

  • Experience in community management or game development including studios, passion projects, or indie projects
  • Understanding of scripting languages such as LUA or Python with willingness to learn RuneScript
  • Passion for MMORPGs and player development communities with strong RuneScape familiarity
  • Knowledge of building and executing strong community strategies
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and technical documentation skills
  • Effective time management and ability to meet content delivery schedules
