Community Manager - Job Summary
Lead and grow a regulated sector community by building trust, ensuring compliance, and driving authentic engagement aligned with brand and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a large social media community, maintaining positive and collaborative communication.
- Moderate daily interactions, respond to questions, and handle escalations promptly.
- Identify trending topics and post daily discussions and weekly challenges.
- Report monthly community themes and maintain high engagement energy.
- Review and approve messaging to ensure compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and FINRA.
- Monitor for compliance breaches, misinformation, and manage risk mitigation.
- Liaise between the community, client teams, legal, and compliance partners to ensure safe engagement.
- Develop educational materials, community guidelines, and clear rules on privacy and disclosures.
- Design and execute long-term community programs while tracking engagement and optimizing strategies.
- Stay updated on cultural trends and share insights with teams and clients.
- Collaborate on campaign case studies and assist in content and compliance reporting.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in community management, public relations, or digital strategy in a regulated sector.
- Experience with creator programs and virtual community growth.
- Deep knowledge of compliance standards, data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), and industry regulations (HIPAA, FINRA).
- Ability to anticipate PR and legal risks and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication to simplify complex legal/technical concepts.
- Proactive with ability to meet fast deadlines and anticipate messaging needs.
- Understanding of cultural issues and audience-specific trends across social platforms.
- Passion for storytelling targeted at Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact across diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Understanding of key performance drivers and ability to act on findings.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
