Digital Marketing Manager - Job Summary
Lead organic digital marketing and community-building efforts to attract and engage early users for a new sports betting platform, focusing on TikTok and Instagram.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an organic digital marketing strategy for South African sports and sports betting fans
- Create and publish engaging TikTok and Instagram short-form video content
- Launch grassroots campaigns such as giveaways, competitions, countdowns, and merch drops
- Build and manage online communities through comment sections, DMs, and group chats
- Collaborate with the founding team to define and evolve brand tone, visual identity, and storytelling
- Coordinate teaser and soft-launch campaigns prior to app release
- Identify and engage micro-influencers and sports content creators for organic reach
- Monitor content performance and adjust strategies to maximize engagement and growth
- Research and manage local brand partnerships or sponsorships
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in digital marketing focusing on organic social growth and content creation
- Proven success with organic TikTok and Instagram campaigns with measurable engagement
- Passion for sports, especially football, rugby, and sports betting culture in South Africa
- Skills in short-form video creation including shooting, editing and captioning
- Familiarity with tools such as CapCut, Canva, or InShot is ideal
- Creative and self-starter attitude comfortable in a start-up environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Access to a laptop, smartphone with high-quality camera, and reliable high-speed internet
