Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Intern supports the Development Department by assisting with community engagement activities including volunteer recruiting and management, communications, and in-kind donation management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with managing social media content and partnership highlights
- Analyze trends on Facebook and e-communications and compile reports
- Maintain Constant Contact contact lists
- Research influencer engagement within social media platforms
- Support volunteer program operations including onboarding and data collection
- Manage volunteer records and necessary documentation
- Collaborate on volunteer recruitment initiatives
- Assist with documentation, organization, and distribution of in-kind donations
- Track in-kind donations and maintain wishlists on donation platforms
- Maintain and update donor records in Salesforce
- Follow up with donors for documentation and appreciation
- Research new corporate and community partnerships to increase donations
- Assist with planning and execution of gift giving campaigns
- Assist in thrift stores with social media strategy and postings
- Attend program events and graduations
- Engage with other departments and attend awareness events and meetings when appropriate
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, media, retail management, business, or related field
- Strong passion for nonprofit work aligned with the organization's mission
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills
Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
