Vice President Marketing and Community Engagement - Job Summary
Lead marketing, communication, and community engagement strategies to align with chapter goals and support advancement execution, including overseeing events, content creation, and brand messaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the marketing and communication engagement team through regular communication and reviews.
- Plan and execute all chapter internal event logistics and oversee internal event expenses.
- Support revenue generation for external events.
- Develop content and write for major chapter initiatives and events.
- Support marketing strategy planning, development, and implementation.
- Assist CEO and senior leadership with writing, including speeches and event scripting.
- Collaborate with VP of Major Gifts and VP of Advancement on projects involving major gift support and market needs.
- Lead chapter-wide messaging related to brand refresh and new brand standards.
- Participate in collaborative groups to stay current on storytelling trends.
- Oversee public-facing communications including press releases, media pitching, and speaker preparation.
- Write content for wish families, volunteers, donors, and various campaigns.
- Monitor and analyze chapter reputation in local media and social platforms.
- Support social and digital strategies through writing and communication oversight.
- Protect family privacy and confidentiality per established standards.
- Represent the chapter in Make-A-Wish America marketing initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 7 years of experience leading teams, strategy, project management, creative or technical writing, budget monitoring, and relationship building.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and flexibility to travel overnight up to 40% of the time.
