Community Manager - Job Summary

The Community Manager is a high-impact role responsible for managing daily community operations in the Chicago Union Station location, driving customer experience, member engagement, and coordination with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality customer service to community members, guests, and prospective customers.
  • Create community engagements to build member connections and facilitate introductions.
  • Understand members' businesses and support their short- and long-term goals.
  • Onboard new members including office preparation, tours, orientation, badge distribution, and technology setup.
  • Communicate community news, events, and building information regularly to members.
  • Manage conference room bookings and resolve member complaints empathetically.
  • Manage community expenses within an established budget.
  • Develop and implement creative social and fun events while tracking participation and managing expenses.
  • Support member success through gestures, networking, and community experiences.
  • Execute member events and programming to enhance engagement and value.
  • Celebrate member achievements to promote a culture of belonging.
  • Encourage members to utilize Workbox resources and partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce Workbox offerings that aid member retention.
  • Maintain facility standards and conduct regular audits.
  • Manage site operations and coordinate with operations team.
  • Ensure cleanliness and order of community spaces.
  • Manage mail, deliveries, office logos, branded materials, inventory, and expenses.
  • Implement fire and emergency plans as necessary.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, property managers, and landlords.

Requirements

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in facility management, customer service, hospitality, coworking, or community engagement preferred.
  • Familiarity with multi-site operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building genuine relationships.
  • Natural problem-solver with initiative and adaptability in a dynamic workspace.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Comfortable with light cleaning duties and maintaining environment.
  • Passion for entrepreneurship, business growth, and inclusive environments.
  • Comfortable using workspace technology such as booking systems, CRM, and communication tools.
  • Team player with positive attitude, ownership, and accountability.

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred
