Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Intern supports outreach, engagement, and program activities through communications, administrative tasks, and event coordination in a flexible hybrid internship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with program activities, outreach initiatives, and event planning
- Create and curate content for social media and community communications
- Support data entry, research, and tracking of program outcomes
- Engage with volunteers and community partners
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas
- Assist with administrative and operational tasks
- Help coordinate virtual and in-person engagement opportunities
- Represent Alternatives For Girls at community events when appropriate
- Maintain confidentiality and follow agency policies
Requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Comfort using digital tools for remote work
- Creativity, initiative, and willingness to learn
- Interest in community engagement, social services, or nonprofit work
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital platforms
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Enrollment in or completion of a related degree preferred but not required
- Commitment to Alternatives For Girls’ mission and trauma-informed approach
- Maintain confidentiality and follow agency guidelines
