Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager - Job Summary
Lead and expand the Team ALS Peer-to-Peer Endurance Program while supporting Walk ALS and community fundraising initiatives, managing participant recruitment, fundraising support, and volunteer coordination for endurance events.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment and onboarding of Team ALS participants for endurance races such as marathons and cycling events.
- Coach and support athletes to reach their fundraising goals with regular communication.
- Maintain financial reporting and provide updates on all Team ALS Endurance Events.
- Create post-event debrief reports to evaluate ROI, attendance, and feedback.
- Develop marketing collateral including graphics for communications and social media.
- Manage a portfolio of Walk teams to maximize retention, engagement, and fundraising.
- Lead third-party fundraising events and provide support and resources to fundraisers.
- Recruit and manage volunteers for all events including Walk ALS and Team ALS activities.
- Provide logistical and technical support to donors via the online fundraising portal.
- Identify new revenue sources and cause-related marketing opportunities.
- Assist with other ALS awareness events and projects as assigned.
- Staff events and assist with on-site event production which may require evenings, weekends, and travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, event management, community engagement, or related field.
- Proven success in managing and growing fundraising programs, preferably peer-to-peer.
- Strong relationship-building skills with donors, volunteers, and corporate partners.
- Excellent project management and multitasking abilities.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and be a team player.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Adobe Suite and/or Canva preferred.
- Experience with Luminate Online, Raiser’s Edge, or similar CRM and fundraising tools preferred.
- Availability to work nights and weekends as required.
- Willingness and ability to travel to events; valid driver’s license required.
- Physical ability to perform event setup tasks including lifting and mobility.
