Community Engagement Specialist - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Specialist leads the Connect for Life program to build trusted relationships, engage members through events and outreach, and empower communities for better health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Connect For Life program using Wider Circle's curriculum to build trust and promote health
- Plan and host virtual and in-person events to foster member relationships and wellness
- Proactively contact members to ensure participation in events and group activities
- Conduct one-on-one home visits and monthly engagement with members
- Document all member interactions and attendance using Wider Circle’s digital systems
- Identify and recruit community leaders as Wider Circle Ambassadors to support and grow communities
- Outreach to prospective members and develop personalized enrollment plans
- Serve as liaison connecting members to health plans and healthcare services
- Achieve membership engagement and growth goals through monitoring and reporting
- Manage time and report hours worked in a remote environment
- Conduct home canvassing visits as needed based on location and company needs
Requirements
- Ability to work well with others and provide leadership when needed
- Proactive approach to community engagement initiatives with minimal direction
- Adaptability to fast-paced, changing environments and eagerness to learn
- Minimum 3 years of experience in community outreach, teaching, or facilitation
- Experience building or supporting a community of 500+ members
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Comfortable with web-based and app-based technology systems
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with little supervision
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel 20-50 miles for home visits
- Flexible schedule availability including outside regular business hours
- Willingness to complete pre-employment drug testing and background checks
- Passionate about helping others and building relationships
- Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and leadership skills
Education
Associate's degree preferred; 5+ years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
