Community Engagement Specialist - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Specialist will lead the Connect for Life program by building trust and engagement among community members through events, outreach, and personalized support to improve health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Connect For Life program using Wider Circle's curriculum to build trust and promote health.
- Plan and host virtual and in-person events to foster member relationships and wellness.
- Proactively contact members to ensure participation in events and activities, including one-on-one home visits.
- Record all member outreach, attendance, and contact attempts in online systems timely.
- Identify and recruit community leaders to serve as Wider Circle Ambassadors.
- Connect prospective members and develop plans to enroll them in the program.
- Serve as liaison connecting members to health plans and assisting with healthcare needs and appointments.
- Track and report membership engagement and growth, managing time and documentation remotely.
- Conduct home visits to meet with members who are hard to reach and encourage event participation.
Requirements
- Team player with leadership abilities.
- Proactive and able to work with minimal direction.
- Adaptable to fast-paced, changing environments and eager to learn.
- 3+ years experience in community outreach, teaching, or facilitation; healthcare experience a plus.
- Experience building or supporting communities with 500+ members.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and follow through.
- Comfortable using web-based and app-based systems.
- Independent worker capable of managing tasks remotely with little supervision.
- Reliable transportation for travel of 20-50 miles.
- Flexible schedule to work outside regular business hours as needed.
- Willingness to complete pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
Education
Associate's degree preferred; 5+ years relevant experience may substitute for degree.
