Community Manager - Job Summary
Responsible for running day-to-day operations of MATTER's space and designing community programming to engage healthcare entrepreneurs and innovators.
Key Responsibilities
- Design community-based programming such as meetups, founder gatherings, and topical salons
- Foster connections and momentum among members, partners, and guests
- Partner with marketing, ventures, and partnerships teams to execute events
- Manage daily operations of the 15,000-square-foot space
- Provide a visible and approachable presence to support members and guests
- Oversee receptionist and ensure high-quality interactions
- Manage and troubleshoot conference room technology, AV, printers, WiFi, and keycards
- Fix and improve operational issues, escalate to IT when needed
- Support the CEO with scheduling and coordination
Requirements
- Experience organizing and bringing people together
- Ability to develop and follow through on ideas
- Knowledge of healthcare innovation landscape
- Collaborative team player able to turn ideas into reality
- Strong interpersonal skills and welcoming demeanor
- Experience managing a community, office, or similar space
- Comfortable with technology and troubleshooting
- Proactive problem solver
- Attention to detail
- Highly reliable
- 1 to 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Located in Chicago and willing to work on-site
