Director of Community Engagement - Job Summary
The Director of Community Engagement leads volunteer services, partnerships, and outreach to build organizational capacity and support Rosie's Place's mission, providing strategic vision and managing a community engagement team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for volunteer management, service-learning, and social justice educational activities.
- Develop and implement integrated communication plans for community engagement audiences.
- Identify and implement partnerships with human service, corporate, faith-based, and school groups.
- Direct community outreach efforts including tours, presentations, and event representation.
- Collaborate with internal departments to communicate organization impact to donors and stakeholders.
- Stay current on trends and best practices in community engagement and volunteer management.
- Evaluate and implement service delivery models to adapt to evolving needs.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in community engagement programs.
- Supervise, support, and develop staff including performance reviews and training.
- Manage Community Engagement program budget and staffing coverage.
- Maintain accurate database records and generate required reports.
- Develop and report on program metrics regularly.
- Represent Rosie's Place in the broader community.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief External Relations Officer.
Requirements
- 5-7 years in fundraising operations, database management, or nonprofit development.
- Minimum 3 years supervising staff with team leadership and performance management success.
- Deep commitment to social justice and Rosie's Place mission.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
- Proficiency in Volgistics or other volunteer management systems, database management, reporting, and data integrity.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams.
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Reliable, adaptable, collaborative, and proactive work ethic.
