Community Engagement Coordinator - Job Summary
Manage the barber and stylist experience across a multi-state community engagement program to activate barbershops and salons as voter engagement hubs, ensuring clear communication, support, and retention of participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Own barber/stylist user experience including clarity of expectations and support pathways
- Support team in building and maintaining pipeline of participating shops and leaders
- Create and maintain tools such as talk tracks, message templates, checklists, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides
- Train and support Community Organizers and Communication Support Specialists
- Coordinate milestone-based planning and readiness for events and activations
- Support leadership development within barber/stylist network
- Collaborate with local partners to strengthen credibility and expand reach
- Travel regularly to shops and partner activations as needed
- Provide regular program updates including feedback trends and operational risks
- Participate in end-of-cycle debrief and documentation
Requirements
- Excellent at designing and managing participant experience in high-volume programs
- Ability to coach and support staff and create usable tools
- Organized with ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Clear and respectful communication with community leaders and small business owners
- Ability to travel regularly to shops and salons in program states
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs)
