Intern - Communication & Community Engagement - Job Summary
This part-time internship supports communications strategies and community engagement through content creation, social media management, and event coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute communication strategies including creating digital marketing assets and social media content
- Draft posts for social media and write blog posts
- Create communications and marketing materials using digital tools such as Sprout Social and Canva
- Contribute ideas to reach new audiences and strengthen community engagement
- Assist with website content buildout
- Support media relations including drafting press releases and aiding media interviews
- Collaborate with local businesses and nonprofits on engagement initiatives
- Coordinate and execute community engagement initiatives and special events
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be 18+ and enrolled in college pursuing Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related degree
- Valid driver’s license with minimum 3 years driving experience and motor vehicle report review
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to prioritize projects with tight deadlines
- Experience managing social media platforms professionally
- Experience with graphic design, photography, and video
- Basic knowledge of SEO and email marketing best practices
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Creative, flexible, self-directed problem solver with strong communication skills
- Must work in-person about 3 days a week for 20-25 hours
- Must have personal vehicle and laptop for work purposes
- Availability to attend some events during nights and weekends
Education
Enrolled in college pursuing Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related degree
