Community Engagement Manager - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Manager will build and mobilize online communities through grassroots organizing and influencer strategies to support campaign objectives, requiring in-office presence in Washington, D.C. at least three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement grassroots acquisition and activation strategies and community and influencer engagement strategies.
- Translate social listening and campaign insights into proactive community activation and influencer engagement tactics.
- Identify key narrative windows, digital moments, or news cycles for strategic amplification or activation.
- Manage outreach to third-party stakeholders including paid/unpaid influencers, community voices, and industry advocates.
- Build and maintain a high-trust network of partners and digital ambassadors.
- Draft influencer briefs, talking points, and support materials aligned with brand and campaign objectives.
- Draft compelling grassroots outreach content like email campaigns, digital messaging, and social copy.
- Collaborate with creative, content, and digital media teams to align community engagement with campaign storytelling.
- Explore and recommend emerging digital spaces for outreach and message amplification.
- Track and create comprehensive reports on outreach efforts, influencer engagement, and community response.
- Provide strategic recommendations for ongoing optimization and expansion of grassroots impact.
- Monitor special interest groups and regional networks to identify new engagement opportunities.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of experience in PR, digital strategy, grassroots organizing or community engagement, with agency background preferred.
- Demonstrated success with third-party advocacy.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in client-facing environments.
- Experience working in integrated communication environments and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with social platforms, digital ecosystems, grassroots organizing best practices, and grassroots platforms such as Speak4, Quorum, and Nation Builder.
- Proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
