Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Intern will gain hands-on nonprofit experience focusing on community engagement strategies, partner relations, and project management, supporting various organizational areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn general principles of community engagement and project management
- Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office
- Input and analyze data in online platforms and spreadsheets
- Provide program support
- Attend events and tabling activities
- Assist with email management
- Support event procedures and community engagement efforts
- Attend and support community coalitions and workgroup efforts
- Assist the Community Engagement Team with various tasks
Requirements
- Current college student or recent graduate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including public speaking
- Detail-oriented
- Effective time management and organization skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Availability to work at least 15 hours per week
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups
- Preferred: ability to meet deadlines
- Preferred: strong organizational and planning skills
- Preferred: creative, innovative, and adaptable
- Preferred: interest in community outreach
