Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
Support the Community Engagement Team through planning and outreach at community events, gaining hands-on nonprofit experience in community engagement strategies, partner relations, project management, and family engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Family Futures representation at local community events
 - Assist in outreach planning as part of the Community Engagement team
 - Network with local businesses and organizations to facilitate events
 - Attend and staff tabling opportunities at community events
 - Research and create developmentally appropriate activities for children and families
 - Assist with mailings, social media, email management, and other communications
 - Collect data and support basic report writing
 - Collaborate with Nonprofit Administrative Intern to develop Volunteer Training system
 - Gain knowledge of community engagement principles
 - Project management and document creation/modification using Microsoft Office
 - Input and analyze data in online platforms and spreadsheets
 - Provide program support and assist with event procedures
 - Attend and support community coalitions and workgroups
 - Assist Community Engagement Team with various tasks
 
Requirements
- Current college student or recent graduate in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Early Childhood Development, Community Engagement, or related field
 - Willingness to learn and broaden personal skills
 - Ability to work independently and in a team
 - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
 - Detail-oriented with effective time management and organizational skills
 - Ability to maintain confidentiality
 - Ability to work at least 15 hours per week
 - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups
 - Ability to meet deadlines
 - Creative, innovative, and adaptable
 - Interest in community outreach
 
Education
Current college student or recent graduate in relevant fields
