Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary

The Summer Intern will gain hands-on experience in community engagement, fundraising, participant outreach, and corporate communication while working remotely with the Autism Speaks Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research prospects for sponsorship and event corporate support
  • Outreach to local community organizations, social media groups, and influencers
  • Create and execute social media plans
  • Conduct community outreach for event and campaign sponsors, volunteers, and constituents
  • Provide customer service to local event participants
  • Follow up with lapsed past teams and current teams of local events

Requirements

  • Must be a student receiving academic credit from an accredited institution
  • Strong organizational skills, follow-up, and attention to detail
  • Curious and eager to learn about fundraising, event management, and donor outreach
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and social media
  • Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills

Education

Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student eligible for academic credit
