Community Engagement Manager - Job Summary

The Community Engagement Manager leads outreach, engagement, communications, and media relations to increase awareness of programs, build community partnerships, and expand access to services across Southern Nevada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated communications and outreach plans.
  • Lead proactive outreach to increase program awareness.
  • Conduct presentations, workshops, and informational sessions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral partners and community organizations.
  • Coordinate and attend community events and networking opportunities.
  • Secure public speaking opportunities to educate and reduce stigma.
  • Develop targeted outreach for transitional-aged youth recovery housing program.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings with partners to enhance collaboration.
  • Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities.
  • Capture and develop content including member success stories and program milestones.
  • Manage content for website, social media, newsletters, and outreach materials.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure accurate messaging.
  • Identify and secure media opportunities and maintain media relationships.
  • Draft press releases, media advisories, and talking points.
  • Track outreach activities, partnerships, referrals, and engagement metrics.
  • Support reporting for grants and organizational communications.
  • Initiate and manage organizational campaigns and events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, public health, social work, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in community outreach, communications, or public relations, preferably in nonprofit or behavioral health.
  • Proficiency with digital media platforms, SEO, content management systems, and basic design/analytics tools.
  • Experience building and maintaining partnerships with community organizations and referral partners.
  • Strong written communication skills for various media.
  • Experience with media relations including drafting press materials and coordinating interviews.
  • Public speaking experience with ability to draft talking points and present.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel.
  • Knowledge or experience with substance use and mental health impacted individuals.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, public health, social work, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
