Senior Community Manager - Job Summary
Lead the strategy and execution of Proton's community ecosystem, turning users into committed advocates through programs, ambassador management, and community engagement across digital and real-world platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and deliver Proton's community ecosystem including the Community Hub and ambassador programs.
- Develop systems, frameworks, and rituals to scale belonging and participation.
- Manage ambassador journeys, contribution loops, rewards, and governance autonomously.
- Source, onboard, activate, and nurture ambassadors representing Proton both online and offline.
- Grow micro-communities on platforms such as Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Matrix, and LinkedIn groups.
- Foster authentic conversations, create rituals and human-centered community touchpoints.
- Identify community needs and liaise between users and internal teams.
- Monitor community sentiment, support crisis response, and maintain brand safety.
- Create and uphold moderation standards, policies, and community guidelines.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to transform community insights into roadmap inputs.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to Social & Community team practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in community management, ambassador programs, or developer relations.
- Proven communication and copywriting skills.
- Hands-on experience with community hubs or ambassador programs.
- Experience facilitating user communities or event-driven community activation.
- Strong communication skills to motivate and engage groups.
- Ability to own programs end-to-end autonomously while collaborating on broader strategy.
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making with trade-off analysis.
- Based in the US and familiar with US online culture.
