Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Intern supports the Development Department by assisting with community engagement activities such as volunteer management, social media, donor services, and in-kind donations, gaining comprehensive nonprofit experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with managing social media content and partnership highlights
- Analyze trends on Facebook and e-communications, compiling reports
- Maintain Constant Contact contact lists and research influencer engagement
- Support volunteer program operations including onboarding and service data collection
- Manage volunteer records ensuring completion of background checks and training
- Collaborate on creating and distributing volunteer opportunities and recruitment initiatives
- Assist with documentation, organization, and distribution of in-kind donations
- Track in-kind donations and maintain wishlists on platforms such as Amazon and Purposity
- Maintain donor records in Salesforce and follow up with donors for documentation and appreciation
- Research new corporate and community partnerships to increase in-kind donations
- Assist with planning and execution of various gift giving campaigns
- Assist in thrift stores with social media strategy and postings
- Attend program participants’ graduations, events, awareness events, speaking engagements, and meetings as appropriate
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, media, retail management, business, or related field
- Strong passion for nonprofit work aligned with Wellspring Living’s mission
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical abilities
- Experience assisting with coordination, tracking, and stewardship of in-kind donations highly desirable
- Interest or experience in volunteer engagement including recruitment, onboarding, and appreciation
- Experience with Canva Pro, Salesforce, or other CRM/donor management systems is a plus
- Reliable transportation required to travel between different locations
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace
Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, media, retail management, business, or related field
