Recovery Coach - Job Summary
Provide remote and occasional in-person peer support and recovery coaching to clients in Vermont, using certification and personal recovery experience to guide sustainable recovery paths.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one peer support and recovery coaching via phone, video, and other digital platforms
- Empower clients to set, pursue, and achieve recovery goals through personalized action planning
- Create safe, supportive spaces for clients to share experiences and access guidance without judgment
- Facilitate remote peer support groups to foster connection and community among participants
- Help clients navigate treatment, healthcare, and recovery-oriented resources in Vermont
- Track progress, maintain accurate documentation, ensuring adherence to clinical and regulatory standards
- Offer practical support in life skills, employment stability, financial management, and social support
- Participate in local events, outreach, and recovery networks in Vermont several times per year
- Use AI-powered medical records and telehealth platforms to streamline care and enhance client engagement
- Collaborate with clinicians, counselors, and team members for coordinated recovery approach
Requirements
- Must reside in Vermont
- Certified Recovery Coach or Peer Support Specialist with CRC, PRSS, CPRSS, ICPRC, or RCPRC certification
- Personal experience in recovery with empathetic, judgment-free support approach
- Proven experience in peer support, recovery coaching, or related behavioral health services
- Knowledge of local treatment, recovery, and community resources in Vermont
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to build rapport virtually and in person
- Comfort with technology including telehealth platforms, AI-driven systems, and electronic medical records
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills and ability to work independently remotely
- Willingness to participate in occasional in-person community engagement activities and events
