Communications and Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
Provides project-based support for communications, public information, marketing, community engagement, and downtown initiatives while gaining practical experience in local government communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with content creation for social media, website updates, newsletters, and promotional materials
- Assist with photography and videography of City projects, programs, events, meetings, and community initiatives
- Assist with graphic design projects and development of digital and print marketing materials
- Support website updates, content organization, and digital information management
- Assist with event planning, public engagement activities, and citywide initiatives
- Assist with downtown events, promotions, and Main Street Program activities
- Conduct research to support communications projects, presentations, campaigns, and reports
- Assist with monitoring social media engagement and prepare basic performance summaries
- Maintain photo, video, document, and communication archives
- Assist with administrative tasks, data entry, meeting preparation, and special projects
- Participate in department meetings and contribute creative ideas for communication and engagement
- Represent the City professionally during events and community activities
- Perform related duties as assigned
