Marketing Intern - Job Summary
Assist in marketing activities, social media management, community outreach, and partnership development for a local healthcare business, gaining practical marketing and community engagement experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Create engaging content for LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Develop social media posts, graphics, short videos, and Reels using tools like Canva.
- Manage and maintain a social media and content calendar.
- Support creation of flyers, newsletters, presentations, and other marketing materials.
- Identify opportunities to increase local brand awareness and community engagement.
- Monitor social media engagement and prepare performance reports.
- Research and identify local community organizations and engagement opportunities.
- Support outreach to senior centers, community groups, healthcare organizations, and assisted living communities.
- Coordinate and promote community events, educational sessions, and outreach activities.
- Attend community events and represent Senior Helpers professionally.
- Develop relationships with community partners and referral sources.
- Identify opportunities for community initiative contributions.
- Conduct local market and competitor research.
- Identify potential referral and partnership opportunities.
- Support community marketing campaigns and track outreach activities, contacts, and outcomes.
- Contribute ideas for new campaigns and initiatives.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in college or university, preferably studying Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, Media, Healthcare Administration or related field.
- Creative and comfortable developing digital content.
- Strong communicator with excellent writing skills.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable using social media platforms.
- Familiar with Canva or willing to learn.
- Confident speaking with community organizations and public members.
- Professional, personable, and enthusiastic.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Interested in healthcare, aging, senior care, or community development.
- Previous marketing experience helpful but not required.
