Open Source Community Outreach Lead - Job Summary
Lead efforts to grow Temporal's presence and influence in the open source ecosystem by increasing contributions and engagement with developer communities, working cross-functionally to align open source initiatives with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify high-impact open source projects to build credibility and visibility with key developer audiences.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain and grow a portfolio of example projects, SDKs, and integrations.
- Enable and support engineers contributing to third-party open source projects.
- Track and report on contribution growth and adoption metrics in open source communities.
- Represent the company in community working groups, SIGs, and foundation initiatives.
- Partner with Developer Marketing and Developer Relations to communicate the company's open source involvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience contributing to or stewarding open source projects as an engineer, advocate, or community leader.
- Solid understanding of open source governance, licensing, and contribution best practices.
- Ability to align contribution strategy with developer personas and marketing goals authentically.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with engineering, product, and developer relations teams.
- Passion for developer experience and sustainable community building.
