Community Manager - Job Summary

The Community Manager will manage Zipline's social media communities to engage audiences, shape conversations, build brand trust, and foster a supportive community around the company's mission and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day community engagement across Zipline’s social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and emerging channels.
  • Respond in real time to comments, direct messages, mentions, and trends with speed, accuracy, and sound judgment.
  • Maintain a consistent, human, and brand-aligned voice online.
  • Monitor social conversations and sentiment, flag risks and opportunities early.
  • Develop and execute a social/community engagement plan targeting growth.
  • Track performance, engagement, and sentiment; iterate based on insights and audience response.
  • Lead cross-channel posting schedules and hold teams accountable for deadlines.
  • Monitor and share earned media content on social media.
  • Support product launches and key moments with targeted community engagement and moderation.
  • Provide community insights and analytics to inform content, messaging, FAQs, and communications strategy.
  • Maintain brand voice and visual standards while experimenting creatively.
  • Collaborate closely with Communications, Social + Film, Marketing, and Operations teams.

Requirements

  • 6+ years managing social media communities for a brand, organization, or media company.
  • Exceptional writing skills with strong instincts for tone, nuance, and audience context; copywriting experience is a plus.
  • Experience engaging large, diverse audiences in fast-moving or high-visibility environments.
  • Understanding of social media platforms, culture, trends, and best practices.
  • Proven judgment navigating sensitive or high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm managing multiple live conversations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Strong storytelling abilities.
  • Experience working with media relations, creators, influencers, and YouTubers is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills and experience working cross-functionally.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
