Social Media & Community Engagement Coordinator - Job Summary
The role manages social media and digital content to enhance brand engagement and community relationships while supporting marketing campaigns and outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day social media across core and emerging platforms including scheduling, publishing, and community moderation.
- Develop content strategy and editorial calendar collaborating with programming teams.
- Monitor community engagement, respond to inquiries, and escalate sensitive issues.
- Track social media analytics and identify growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, cultural partners, and media.
- Identify and manage partnerships with creators and influencers.
- Pursue cross-promotional partnerships and community collaborations.
- Assist marketing team with email campaigns, project tracking, and paid social setup.
- Draft and edit copy for website, social, email, and marketing materials.
- Provide operational coverage for marketing leadership during peak times.
Requirements
- Exceptional written communication adaptable across digital channels.
- Proficiency with short-form video editing tools like CapCut.
- Experience growing social media channels with demonstrated metrics or portfolio.
- Familiarity with social scheduling, monitoring, and analytics tools.
- Up-to-date on digital content trends and cultural sensitivity.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- 2+ years professional experience in social media, communications, PR, or community engagement, ideally in cultural, museum, arts, or nonprofit settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or equivalent experience.
- Cultural interest in Japanese or Asian-American cultural ecosystems.
- Japanese language proficiency is a plus but not required.
