Director of Community Engagement - Job Summary
Lead growth initiatives in Columbus and surrounding markets by managing partnerships, overseeing outreach and sales teams, and driving service utilization for behavioral health and substance use recovery services.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute regional growth plans based on market analysis
- Identify, secure, and nurture strategic partnerships
- Tailor partnership strategies to market needs and partner goals
- Serve as primary ambassador for internal and external partners
- Hire, train, and lead community engagement and outreach staff
- Establish outreach goals, KPIs, and conversion quotas
- Oversee daily team operations and performance
- Prepare budgets, sales forecasts, and manage expenditures
- Guide compliance with policies, SOPs, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other regulations
- Conduct outreach to recruit clients and service providers
- Support peer recovery supporters with placement and training
- Coordinate and participate in community events and advocacy
- Engage actively in local boards and advocacy groups
- Track referral sources and outreach activity in CRM/EHR
- Report monthly results to leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
- Master’s degree (MBA or MHA) preferred
- 4+ years progressive experience in partnership development, community engagement, account management or healthcare sales
- 2+ years supervisory or management experience
- Strong background in substance use disorder, mental health or behavioral health preferred
- Existing relationships within Columbus healthcare community preferred
- Knowledge of Ohio Medicaid behavioral health system and referral management preferred
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, active auto insurance
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot), Google Suite, EHRs
- Willingness to undergo background and motor vehicle record checks
- Preferred minimum 5 years verified sobriety if in personal recovery
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s degree preferred
