Community Engagement Manager - Job Summary

The Community Engagement Manager leads community-driven initiatives by organizing programs, managing communications, building partnerships, and coordinating events to empower residents and foster equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate community programs and events that build connection and power
  • Create multi-format content including graphics, videos, and written copy for diverse audiences
  • Manage all communications including website, social media, newsletter, and promotional materials
  • Build partnerships with residents, local organizations, businesses, and city agencies
  • Co-facilitate working groups to create inclusive decision-making spaces
  • Coordinate event logistics including venues, vendors, materials, and volunteers
  • Track impact using attendance metrics, engagement analytics, and community feedback
  • Support storytelling initiatives such as podcast production and audio/video projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Architecture, Community Development, Public Administration, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in community program coordination, organizing, or similar role
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Hands-on content creation experience with Canva (required) and Adobe (preferred)
  • Proficiency with social media scheduling tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite) and email platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
  • Excellent communication skills for writing, designing, and engaging diverse stakeholders
  • Experience working in or with communities of color and underserved neighborhoods
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and passion for community development
  • Residency in Atlanta area with preference for proximity to Campbellton Road
  • Availability to work 4 days per week in office and attend regular evening/weekend events

Education

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Architecture, Community Development, Public Administration, or related field
