Social Media Community Specialist - Job Summary

The role focuses on engaging and converting social media audiences to foster a vibrant online community, enhancing customer interaction and driving conversions for the client's brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to inbound DMs following structured conversation flows
  • Qualify leads by assessing needs, budget, urgency, and fit
  • Drive conversions by guiding conversations to booking calls, collecting info, sending links, or completing purchases
  • Handle objections confidently while maintaining brand tone
  • Reply strategically to comments to boost engagement and direct qualified prospects into DMs
  • Execute posting tasks for pre-planned content, ensuring proper publishing and coordination
  • Maintain consistent and natural brand voice across all interactions
  • Track and follow up on conversations using tools like Instagram labels, spreadsheets, or CRM
  • Share performance updates including response time, volume, qualified leads, conversions, objections, and audience insights
  • Escalate sensitive or complex issues to the team appropriately

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years experience managing Instagram or social media DMs for sales, customer support, community engagement, or appointment setting
  • Excellent written English with a natural, conversational tone able to match brand voice and adapt to different personalities
  • Conversion mindset with ability to qualify leads, follow scripts, and move prospects toward next steps
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills using labels, notes, and tracking to avoid lost leads
  • High emotional intelligence and calmness under pressure to manage objections and difficult messages professionally
  • Fast and consistent response handling high DM volumes daily, maintaining response SLAs
  • Familiarity with Instagram labels, Meta Business Suite, Google Sheets/Airtable, and ideally DM automation tools like ManyChat
  • Basic content execution skills including posting scheduled content and light community management (nice to have)
  • Availability for full-time work with a reliable schedule aligned to business time zones covering peak engagement windows
  • Understanding of confidentiality and professionalism relating to customer privacy and brand reputation
