Head of Community Programmes - Job Summary

Lead and manage the Chelsea Foundation's community programmes and team to deliver best-in-class initiatives aligned with Foundation strategy, achieving impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the Chelsea Foundation’s Community provision and team.
  • Develop a culture of high performance and motivation within the staff team.
  • Manage direct line reports and ensure monitoring and review processes.
  • Ensure programmes align with Foundation strategy and achieve key outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Programme Director to design and develop community programmes.
  • Lead programme development with awareness of community needs.
  • Maintain partnerships and build local strategic connections.
  • Work with Fundraising to source additional project funding.
  • Ensure best practices in monitoring and evaluation data collection.
  • Manage departmental budget.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Programme Director.

Requirements

  • Relevant professional or academic qualifications or minimum 5 years experience in similar education/charity role.
  • Experience in a senior role at a charity and/or sports industry.
  • Proven experience designing and managing high-impact community programmes.
  • Track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of charity and education sectors.
  • Strong project management skills managing multiple work strands.
  • Outstanding record in social inclusion, health and wellbeing, and higher education programmes.
  • Strong leadership and excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and compliance with Chelsea FC Foundation policies.

Education

Relevant professional and/or academic qualifications or minimum 5 years experience in similar role; Institute of Leadership and Management qualification (desirable); Youth work or Health & Social Care qualification (desirable).
