Digital Storytelling & Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary

The Intern will support capacity-building by developing digital storytelling and communication strategies to elevate community voices and connect underserved populations to essential services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current social media platforms and establish baseline engagement metrics
  • Develop and implement an 8-10 week content calendar aligned with organizational priorities
  • Create and publish at least 3-4 social media posts weekly including 1 short-form video or reel
  • Lead a supervised Social Media Takeover series with weekly behind-the-scenes content
  • Track performance and contribute to a final report demonstrating 15-25% engagement increase
  • Conduct and document 8-10 interviews with community members, staff, or partners
  • Produce 5-7 high-quality storytelling pieces such as videos, testimonials, or photo essays
  • Attend and document at least 4-6 community events or program activities
  • Develop and organize a digital media library with reusable content assets
  • Create 2 feature stories for outreach, grant writing, or fundraising
  • Document health and wellness campus development with biweekly photo/video updates
  • Create 3-5 content pieces highlighting new campus vision and impact
  • Develop 2 donor or partner spotlight stories supporting the capital campaign
  • Assist in promotion of 2 campaign-related events or announcements on digital platforms
  • Collaborate with staff to produce reusable outreach materials and templates
